A photographic project theming the public men restrooms and the interaction taking place there from the 80s till today.

The Urge, consists of personal photographs and pictures of either ‘90s porn magazines (Meet & Sir magazine) or from online sources in which porn industry actors of the ‘80s & ‘90s are depicted. All images have been edited so that the depicted models are not recognizable. The overall result was structured by references to my personal thoughts and reflections, through an alternative point of view about these spaces.

Dimitris Tairis (1989, Greece) is an Athens based photographer. In 2018 graduated from Stereosis Photography school. His work has been exhibited in several group shows, such as the Inspire Project at Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art (MOMus) in 2018. His latest body of work is the self-published photobook The Urge.
